I was lucky enough to be a beta reader so my first read through TLS was a while ago, yet, I remember it like it was yesterday. The story evokes feelings from my adolescence. It brings me back to a time in high school where I was doing quite well but didn't fit in. There is so much going on in Tristen's life, it is a wonder he can get up in the morning. He is struggling with family issues, being drawn to a girl who is already involved with someone else and having dreams...weird dreams.
This is more than your average coming of age story. It is a deep story within a story. It is a journey through time to find out what Tristen is capable of. It is the foundation of an epic journey of self discovery and and a lovely peek at a part of history we don't often see.
If you like historical fiction, deep meaningful story lines and interesting multi-dimensional characters this is the book for you!
The second book is set in a different time period and you get a lot deeper with the characters. Loved them both even when I had to wait to see how they turned out!

Riviting! A young man finds himself unknowling traveling back in time, fighting the forces of evil because of his goodness.
This book is a page turner!! The talented author Fleur Camacho does a wonderful job helping the reader fall in love with the characters and pulls you into the adventures Tristen goes through. I love these books and look forward to reading more of her stories.
Loved these books and the twists on magic. Can't wait to read more by this author.
These books are a fun and exciting escape! I love the characters and how they interact. The dialogue and descriptions in these books are rich and wonderful. The first and second stories provide a little bit of historical glimpses into life in other times and places. The third is a fun tangent on one of the mysterious characters that appears in the first two books. They are all great reads for young adults and even for "busy moms" who need an escape from time to time!
Camacho's series is a nice blending of history, scifi and fantasy. The writing improves with each volume. The Last Seeker was an intriguing opening installment. The Secret Heeder had a clear plot and subplot. The Prophecy is quite different than the first two books, but I really enjoyed the style of fantasy, and I may have enjoyed it the most of the three. I'm hoping there will be another book, because I feel like some parts of the story line didn't fully resolve.
This series is one you won't want to put down until you've read it all, and then want more of what's to come with Tristen. Tristen is so relatable in his awkward teenage experiences and then not so normal situations that thrust him into the hero he is to become. You will be drawn in as he is molded into someone who will be responsible to save the past, present and future.
The first two books involves Tristen discovering enemies he didn't know existed and finding powers within that he's not yet able to fully control. He's drawn into pivotal moments in history and must find out what his purpose is as he navigates through these distinct times and places.
The third is a novella that delves into Tristen's quirky teacher/mentor who is always illusive and never seems to be able to give Tristen a straight answer to his many questions. As he visits the place that he grew up, to find answers in how to best guide Tristen as a seeker, we get to gain a glimpse of who he really is, through his denied true love and unresolved memories of a difficult childhood. You find that Mr. Becker (Garyn) has a depth to him that was never expected when seeing him through Tristen's eyes.
I encourage you to immerse yourself into the adventures that befall Tristen, you'll fall in love with this series!
I simply love this series. The characters, the plots, the fantasy background (which is not exactly a background at all). I think that every fan of YA and fantasy could enjoy these books. Tristen is just the perfect combination of an awkward boy and the man he is about to become, the other characters are wonderfully mysterious and well portrayed - some spine-chilling, some enigmatic, others only seemingly transparent.
I feel the story must have been well thought through - the details are plentiful and to the point, challenging you to read carefully despite the wish to gulp it down.
I absolutely recommend these books - if you like a great fantasy story with entertaining, well developed characters, and a fair share of travelling in time, grab it. Now.
